The session was out of this world. From the moment she met you, until the last goodbye was an experience for the books. Her work is outstanding! The beauty of this entire session was that you, as the client determine what you want and the mood you would like to create. Even the music to accompany this experience is the client's choice - all to create an ambiance to reflect the best in you, to be captured.
It was such an empowering experience and Melissa had the ability to bring the beauty of you as a woman out - this was reflected in all the photos. It was absolutely beautiful.

This was something I wanted to do for a very long time, but never dare to because I am extremely camera shy. so I decided to jump out of my comfort zone and into Melissa‘s studio. She is such a pro! she made me feel comfortable from the very first second on. we had an introduction zoom call and we linked right away! after our call I was soo excited for this shoot. like beyond excited!
Melissa welcomed me to the studio and made sure I felt comfortable. she was in no rush at all. while shooting she guided me through all the poses, I didn‘t have to worry about a thing. now, i seriously do not know what I was so nervous about. I actually enjoyed it so much that I want to go back for more! the pictures are amazing and i cannot believe that that is me in those pictures! I will def recommend her to all of my girlfriends! it was so liberating and empowering!

When I signed up for this experience I didn't have a clue as to how amazing this whole experience was going to be. Melissa is extremely professional, kind, and makes you feel at ease as soon as you meet her. The makeup artist working with her also does a fantastic job. To be honest, I was very nervous on the day of the shoot, but I had a lot of fun. I am an extremely camera shy person but Melissa made it very effortless. The most memorable experience of this whole process was the photo reveal. I cannot really describe how I felt looking at myself through Melissa's lenses. I often think of myself as childish at times but then in the pictures I was seeing this confident and mature woman and that was a precious moment. I still can't get over how amazing I look in the pictures :)

I had been contemplating doing a boudoir shoot for so many years, and finally decided that it would be a great 30th birthday present to myself. I could not be happier to have come across Van Oordt Photography in my search. The entire experience from start to finish was beyond amazing.
Melissa answered all my questions in the one-on-one video call prior to the session, and was always available through text and email if anything else came up. I had so many questions about my hair, makeup, poses, outfits, etc, and she was so patient and skilled in answering all of my questions. On the day of the shoot, I was expecting to feel nervous and anxious, but Melissa made this such a comfortable and safe environment. She was so open to anything I wanted to try in terms of posing and outfits, and offered her expertise as well. We spent the entire shoot laughing and having a great time and I felt so relaxed throughout the entire experience.
On photo reveal day, Melissa again took her time and I did not feel rushed at all. I'm so amazed at the way the photos turned out. This was such an empowering and confidence boosting experience, and I left the shoot feeling even better about myself. What I especially loved was the body positivity that Melissa promoted, and the way she encouraged and reminded me that we are all beautiful just the way we are. She truly helps you embrace who you are as a woman! I would 100% do this again, and I would recommend this experience to anyone and everyone!

I was so nervous... I almost backed out! I am soooo happy I didn't though! Right from the start she made me feel heard. Melissa knew exactly how to position me to bring out my favorite features! The moment I saw the photos in her camera all my insecurities went away and I instantly became excited!
She is truly amazing at her art! I have never felt more beautiful and she brought it all out in me. I am so thankful I didn't chicken out!!! My album came out gorgeous and I couldn't be happier!!!

Honestly, speechless about the final photographs. Stunning, jaw dropping, tasteful, and extremely artistic... do I really look like that?!? I have always loved the beauty of Boudoir, but didn't think I would actually do one myself. I had my first child about 2 years prior; and I was finally starting to feel confident and like an actual human again.
I wanted to commemorate and remember this stage in my life. A reminder of all that I've been through, my life thus far, my strength, my resilience, and of course my beauty.
I had never done any type of photoshoot before and didn't know what to expect. I was extremely excited and slightly nervous as the day approached. Melissa is SPECTACULAR to say the least! She fully prepared me before the photoshoot and let me know exactly what to expect. Surprisingly, I felt completely comfortable and the furthest from self conscious. I totally forgot about the lack of clothing. Melissa literally shows you what to do every step of the way. She also guides you; encourages and compliments you the whole time! There was also music to your taste, yummy snacks, beverages, etc. What more could you ask for?! I felt pampered and empowered.
I highly recommend everyone to do a Boudoir photoshoot at least once! It is truly an absolutely, amazing experience because of Melissa's talent, care, and enthusiasm! Thank you again, Melissa! xoxo

It was a great experience, and I am so happy I chose to do this photoshoot with Melissa.
The atmosphere she makes and attention to all sides of the process make you feel so natural, it was exactly the style I was looking for. Melissa listens to you, but also asks permission to try something new.
The shooting was easy and fast, and I had so much fun! The result is stunning, I don’t have enough time in the day to look at my photos! My husband and daughter love them too, but, most importantly, it feels like a great present for myself.
